That was the question Yagyu Sekishusai asked Miyamoto Musashi (Takezo) when he sought direction in life in chapter 102 of the manga Vagabond by Takehiko Inoue. I highly recommend reading this manga if you haven’t yet, and if you’re more of a book fan, read Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa as the manga is based on this novel.
It’s been over 2 years since I read this chapter but this question has stuck with me since then, I had a different world view then, but I’ve always understood it the same way; You are anything, you can be anything. Right now, while pushing myself through the motions of change, this question is my corner stone (I literally made the image my screensaver). I want to be reminded that I can create my reality, and it can be any reality I want. I can do anything. I want to be reminded that I am infinite.
